As a truly unique artist, her distinct style makes her one of the modern greats of not just the saxophone, but also of the modern UK jazz scene. The new album is a sophisticated and boundless body of work that's full of intensity, as well as softness and tenderness. 5th track into the album 'Stand With Each Other' is an absolute gem. Encircling the tactile rhythms made by bongos and percussion, vocals from collaborators Ms Maurice, Cassie Kinoshi and Richie Seivwright make for an instantly hypnotic melody, which is perpetuated by the sax. Nubya's sensual sax playing emits a sense of power, wisdom and patience. Encompassing the concept of community and togetherness, 'Stand With Eachother' is not only a heavenly listen, but a powerful one too.
